Ben Smith, the Shadow Minister of National Security, reportedly stated ‘sooner or later their luck will run out’ (quotes here). It appears this is what it has come to when investigating such matters … Bermudians will have to wait for the perpetrators ‘luck’ to expire.
Residents are urged to have the courage to come forward if they know who is committing gun crime – a plea that has it appears, unfortunately, become routine and often ignored, as evidenced by the numerous unsolved murders on the island.
Bermudians are painfully aware that guns kill. Perhaps this reckless act will compel someone to break the silence. Staying quiet endangers not just your conscience but also the lives of your friends, family, or others you care about. Bermuda, once a close-knit community, now seems more like a collection of indifferent individuals.
